Ausbildungen: Karola Bielohlawek studierte Kunstgeschichte und Archäologie und erwarb 1917 den Doktorgrad.
Laufbahn: Von 1919 bis 1923 war sie Archivarin der Österreichischen Bundeslichtbildstelle Wien. Auf Grund von § 8 des Angestellten-Abbaugesetzes bewarb sie sich 1923 um einen Posten an der Universitätsbibliothek Wien, den sie im Wege des Angestelltenausgleiches erhalten konnte, weil sie bereits pragmatische Bundesangestellte war, eine Stelle verfügbar war und die Bibliotheksdirektion sie überdies infolge ihrer Vorbildung und Kenntnisse als sehr schätzenswerte Arbeitskraft bezeichnete. Am 25.8.1923 trat sie als erste Akademikerin den Dienst an der Universitätsbibliothek Wien an und erreichte die Dienstklasse „Staatsbibliothekar“. Seit Juni 1938 war sie Mitglied der NSDAP. Im Dezember 1941 wurde sie in das Bildarchiv der Nationalbibliothek übernommen, wo sie wegen des Personalmangels bis Kriegsende an der Katalogisierung der Negative arbeiten musste, obwohl sie inzwischen bereits das Pensionsalter erreicht hatte. Mit 10.11.1945 wurde sie in den Ruhestand versetzt.
